Dessert Is Served: Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie

Having the urge to bake happens more often than not in my home and I always go back to my favorite basic recipes. This recipe is a classic chocolate chip cookie that never lets me down, nor my consumers (eh-hem, hubby). Below is the scrumptious recipe if you'd like to give it a shot and make it your go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe too!

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups unsifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1- 12oz package Semi-Sweet Chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. In a small bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract; beat until creamed. Bet in eggs. Gradually add dry ingredients to bowl. Mix well; stir in chocolate chips (and nuts if you desire).
3. Place a spoonful each on a cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Transfer to a cooking rack and enjoy warm or cooled.
