Paris 3: Eiffel Tower Lunch and Palace of Versailles

The last day in the city of lights and love were spent at the Eiffel Tower and at The Palace of Versailles. We had reservations for lunch at the Eiffel Tower, which was such a special event! It was raining while we ate, but we still could see the city of Paris from the window where we sat. The food was delicious and it was such an amazing experience!

After lunch we headed back, changed real quick, then caught a cab and headed to The Palace of Versailles. Since it was almost 4 in the afternoon by the time we got there, the gardens were unfortunately closed for the day, but we were still able to view the inside of the palace. There were thousands of people shoulder to shoulder in all the hallways of the palace. Most all the windows were closed, so you can only imagine the temperature in there, and there were several people who were in their own world listening to their audio headphones and oblivious to the people (like us) that wanted to walk forward. But all that aside, we were glad to even of made it there and catch a glimpse of how Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette lived.

^Hall of Mirrors^

^getting some fresh air, finally^

On the way back we took one last glimpse of the beautiful Eiffel Tower and then we flew back home early Monday morning!

  1. Did you have to wait in an epic line outside Versailles too?! We wheeled the kids around in the stroller forever while my parents in law waited on our behalf. It was crazy!

    1. Oh my goodness YES! When we got there we just looked at each other and wanted to turn the other way. It was our last day and we were out of time, so we got the tickets and waited at the end of the line. Luckily the line moved pretty fast considering it was the end of the day, but yes it was chaos!!
