Detour To Paris

Well surprise surprise, we missed our flight...again. The next flight going out to Paris was not till 6pm. So since we were already in Sevilla at 7am, we thought we would just spend a day there and sight see until our flight was ready for us later that  evening. Sevilla had more of the old feel Spanish architect. Lively, lots of people, music, good food, and I kid you not, 3 Starbucks within a block of each other, so Chris was happy and we were able to check off another city of exploring.

Disclaimer: all photos from Sevilla were taken from my iPhone, I forgot my camera in the car, go figure

Finally our 6pm flight came around and we were off!

Our first full day in Paris was eventful and of course we all wore our patriotic gear as we pranced around town! We headed to see the great, well known and talked about Eiffel Tower. Let me just tell you that it is way better in person! It was such a beautiful sight to see, standing tall and proud! We also saw another small “Eiffel Tower” that was made out of red chairs. At first we were like oh this is kind of cool, and then Chris realized it was all made out of chairs! After we took several photos in front of the real tower, getting every angle possible, we carried on to explore more of Paris.

We stumbled upon this spectacular park that looked like royalty. We took a walk through the park and on the other side of it was The Louvre. We were wanting to go in, but when we saw the crowds and the line that seemed to never end we decided we would attempt another day where the line wouldn’t be so long. Right as we were about to head the other direction another American couple approached Chris and gave him two tickets. We skipped the line and we were in the Louvre within minutes! The Louvre was amazing and it was so unbelievable that I was actually staring at the Mona Lisa, the one and only, the original, the art that I had learned about in classes and the art that you hear about, I saw it! I also recognized the pyramid outside of The Louvre that was in The Da Vinci Code.

After The Louvre, we headed back where we were staying. We grabbed some lunch at a small cafe on the way back. I think I am a huge fan of French food now. It rained every day we were there in Paris, but it didn’t stop us from going to pretty much every sight in the city. I fell in love with the adorable little cafes, coffee shops, fruit stands, flower shops and many charming other stores. Stay tuned for more!
