Fab Friday

The process of moving has officially began. We sold our car today, about an hour ago actually. We are making plans and setting dates. Searching for things in our future town. Making lists and getting organized with folders. I'm all about lists these days, especially when I know my memory will fail me at times.

I attempted to make another whole wheat pizza dough this week with a different recipe and I'd say it was better than the last time, I think it's a keeper. I will share on a future post how it went down. We also made another batch of homemade ice cream. Frozen snickers bars are the thing right now in this home and they also make for a great teething toy, with the bar still in its wrapper of course. We are celebrating Miss A's first birthday a week or two early since Chris will be gone on her birthday. We headed to Gibraltar for the day over Labor Day weekend. Chris had to remind me that most everyone knew English and that they could understand me. Lets just say I was beyond thrilled that I could converse with the world again and actually order my meal at a restaurant in my own language! Jaw dropping I tell ya. We are sad that hubby has to leave again for work, but once his trip is over, it will conclude our time out here in Espana.

Cheers!

A Birthday Week And Weekend

The journey for Chris arriving home was very extensive and the poor guy had delay after delay sending him a day later than he was supposed to come home. I was so happy once I knew he was actually on the last plane ride home. We had gotten an ice cream maker and it arrived the week of my birthday, how convenient and dangerous! Of course I couldn't wait to make ice cream. I made vanilla and cookies n cream. Then I had the idea to make a cake for my birthday too. I decided to combine them and make mini ice cream cakes in our ramekins, it was a perfect treat!

Chris took me out to Dolce Vita on my actual birthday for dinner. Delicious as always.

Then, over the weekend we headed to the horse races that are held on the beach. The races go for a few days, but we decided to watch them on the last day they were held. It was a BLAST! We took a little picnic dinner there, ate on the beach before the races, packed up our picnic, glued ourselves against the orange fence and waited till the horses raced by!

To conclude the weekend, we indulged in the ice cream cake and sang a little song. Audrey was intrigued by the candles and helped me blow them out. It was a great birthday week and weekend!

Friday At Last

From sensory activities to beach days and all in between, we have managed to make it through this haul of Chris not being here. But it has finally come to an end, the Friday we have been hoping and waiting for. We are currently preparing the house, like more than normal, for him coming home! When I say more than normal, it is because I have let the ball drop with weekly to do's and such. So I am kicking it into high gear and soon enough there will be clean laundry and a house that sparkles.

We've experienced lots of sunshine here. It's not just the weekends where the beach is flocking with people, it's the weekdays too. When it gets overwhelmingly crowded EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. then I wish the rain would come or winter so that way there'd be some peace and quiet every once in awhile. But I guess every one is trying to get their tan on before summer comes to a close!

The other night the moon was gleaming with more light than usual. They say it was about 30,000 miles closer to earth than it normally is. I could see its detailed character and everything. Although the sun sets around 9:30pm here and I was already in bed by then, I was hoping I would still catch the moon in the morning, and indeed I did. Still at 7:15 am, the moon was still making its appearance!
