We began the weekend with a 5k color run that took place on base. We decided to not get the stroller all colorful, so I just ran it as hubby and Audrey cheered me on. Then we came back and relaxed a little bit, took a trip to the grocery store and then we were in for the rest of the day. The past month has been on the go all the time, so our bottoms found a perfect spot on the couch and remained there for quite some time. We watched a few Gilmore Girls episodes (and yes he's into them too; sorry I spilled the beans if you're reading this) and put on a couple movies later on. We may have occasionally gotten up from the couch to grab some snacks, but we were the definition of vegging that day.
Sunday morning we slept in and then eventually got up enjoyed some french toast and bacon. There was a church service held on base for Easter Sunday, so we made our way over there for that. It was so nice to be in community and actually put on church attire instead of wearing pi's while watching church online at the house. After the service was over we came home had a light lunch and then I began to cook for an Easter dinner feast. We started off with an appetizer I had made with goat cheese, blackberries and honey on a crisp. Then for dinner we had some ham, strawberry spinach salad with toasted almonds and goat cheese and potatoes. And later, if that wasn't enough, I made a flour-less chocolate cake that I probably should have NEVER of made in the first place let alone discovered...it's AMAZING! We topped it off with some homemade whip cream and strawberries.
Oh and Audrey turned 7 months last week. Crazy. It's all happening before my eyes. Too fast.
